🧬 Bio

Hello! My names Jose and I’m super excited to meet and work with you all! 👊🏾

🏡 I’m originally from Philadelphia (North Philly 215) where I went to a Charter School all through High School (shout out CAPCS). Graduated from 🎓 Penn State University in 2015 with a Bachloers Degree in Information Sciences & Technology.

📍 Lived there all my life until end of 2015, where I took my talents to the mid-west and joined the city of Chicago. Now I’m currently living in Northern Indiana with my wife, Goldendoodle 🐕 and beautiful kids 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

⚽ In my spare time, I enjoy watching sports, mostly Fútbol, Baseball (sept-oct), Football - from college to pros. I also enjoy playing as well. Not the best 🏓 player but I will take you down a point at least

💻 In terms of career, I’ve spent a large amount of my time working in IT teams. I have massive passion for taking “boring” parts of a role and making them automated and delightful and IT can make that super easy. When I moved to Chicago, I joined a small IT team supporting students and staff with everyday IT needs, from deployment/patching to AV events and webinars. Then i continued working in similar roles in different Startups and building great connections with friends I still talk to today

📈 Since then I’ve bounced between different companies in the Chicago area to more aboard companies where I love being a part of the growth and discovery journey and bringing previous experience to refine and perfect the aspects of internal tech

🙋🏾 What I'm like

🫣 I’m an introvert at first but with time, i’m really outgoing and like to be seen. I wouldn’t label myself an extrovert since I’m not grabbing the microphone at a party or karaoke but I will scream my lungs out when no one is watching. I am really sociable once we introduce each other and find some common interest but until then, I will treat everyone with respect and honor.

👷🏾 I have trouble switching off work hat and family & friends consider me a night-owl since I am always on my laptop or doing something for work/myself. It’s that when I get an idea/project or anything I love to do, I want to continue working on it and cant stop until I learned more and progressed in it. Similar to when you were a kid and played a great game and you get lost; Thats me when it comes to anything in IT.

🫂 I love helping people and will out this before almost everything else. Although this can be useful it can something get in the way of bigger fires that are less time-sensitive but more important overall. I’m getting better at saying no but I still sometimes struggle to prioritise. If you think im working on the wrong thing, PLEASE PLEASE let me know!

💪🏾 How to get the best out of me

🗣️If you want to understand something I’m doing please just ask! I love talking about what I do and do my absolute best to work transparently but there's a lot I don't share just because it's effort to track it. I'm always happy to discuss the detail of every/any thing I do, why we’re doing it and what the future plans are. There are neverstupid questions!

🧑🏾‍🍳 Let me cook; If there’s something you need or an idea to help speed up a process or fix an issue, let me cook! I’m more than happy to reach out to people/stakeholders and get answers for us and present our solution and receive feedback. My brain will fire at all cylinders to get us somewhere quick

↔️ I really enjoy working with direct people and love giving and receiving direct feedback. I generally don't get offended in professional settings and would much rather hear the unadulterated truth than something I need to spend effort deconstructing to understand the intent. Please don’t spare my ego if you think I’m doing the wrong thing!

👨🏾‍💻 How I work at work

🌪️ I’m quite a not so organized person and messy thinker but with the power of notion and Atlassian, I can make wonderful documentation for myself and others to help build structure. I sometimes bite more than I can chew and can sometimes not finish things before starting something new. But if the priority is outlined, best believe I will get it done
